Harding County School District Hall of Fame Policy
Purpose:
The Harding County School District (HCSD) Hall of Fame is established to recognize and honor individuals who have made significant contributions to the success, reputation, and legacy of Harding County schools. The Hall of Fame seeks to celebrate the achievements and contributions of outstanding alumni, educators, staff, and community members who have made a lasting impact on the district and beyond.
Eligibility Criteria:
The Harding County School District Hall of Fame honors individuals who have demonstrated exceptional achievement in one or more of the following categories:
- Alumni Achievement
Individuals who graduated from a Harding County school and have achieved notable success in their professional, academic, or personal lives. This may include contributions in fields such as business, government, sports, entertainment, education, science, and the arts. - Educators and Staff Recognition
Individuals who have served in a teaching, administrative, or support staff capacity within the district and have shown exemplary service, innovation, and dedication to the success of the students and the district. - Community and Service Contribution
Individuals who have demonstrated outstanding service to the Harding County community, supporting and advancing the district’s mission and values through volunteer work, community leadership, or philanthropic efforts. - Athletic Achievement
Former student-athletes who have demonstrated exceptional skill, sportsmanship, and leadership in athletics, either during their time at Harding County or post-graduation, and who have brought recognition to the school district through their athletic achievements.
Nomination Process:
- Nominations
Nominations for the Harding County School District Hall of Fame may be submitted by any member of the Harding County community, including alumni, current students, teachers, administrators, or community members. - Submission Deadline
Nominations must be submitted by May 31 of each year. All nominations will be considered for induction in the following school year. - Nomination Form
Nominations must be made using the official Hall of Fame nomination form, which will be available on the Harding County School District website and at the district office. The form requires the following information:- Nominee’s full name and contact information
- Category of nomination (e.g., Alumni, Educator, Community Member, Athlete)
- A brief biography of the nominee, highlighting their achievements and contributions
- Letters of recommendation or supporting documents (optional but encouraged)
Selection Committee:
The Harding County School District Hall of Fame Selection Committee will be responsible for reviewing nominations, verifying the accuracy of submitted information, and making final decisions on inductees. The committee will consist of the following members:

- District Superintendent (Chair)
- School Principal
- One (1) current school board member
- One member of the district’s faculty or staff
- One community leader or stakeholder
Selection Criteria:
The committee will evaluate nominees based on the following criteria:

- Significant accomplishments in the nominee’s chosen field
- Demonstrated leadership, innovation, or service
- Positive and lasting impact on the Harding County School District or its community
- Alignment with the district’s core values of academic excellence, integrity, community service, and lifelong learning
Induction Notification:
Nominees selected for induction will be notified by the District Superintendent by the end of July. Inductees will be invited to a formal induction ceremony at the Homecoming Football Game.
Induction Ceremony:
- Date and Location
The Harding County School District Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held annually at the Homecoming Football Game. - Program and Recognition
Inductees will be formally introduced and honored during the ceremony. Each inductee will receive:- A Hall of Fame plaque or trophy
- A biography and summary of achievements displayed at the Hall of Fame or district office
- Recognition in the district newsletter and on the district’s website and social media platforms
- An opportunity to make a short speech or share remarks during the ceremony
- A public social to celebrate and recognize the inductees after the homecoming football game at an establishment selected by the selection committee.
- Publicity and Communication
The induction ceremony will be widely publicized through local media, district newsletters, and the district website to highlight the accomplishments of the inductees. Photos, video footage, and profiles of inductees may also be shared.
